Bowen Waste Solutions is the waste management and recycling service provider for Bowen Island, including the Bowen Island Recycling Depot (BIRD). We handle residential and commercial waste collection, and operate the recycling depot, which accepts a wide variety of materials.
Bowen Waste Solutions, through the Bowen Island Recycling Depot (BIRD) Refundables Program, gives back to the community. As of October 2025 we have raised over $1.3 million!

We hire a local contractor for tree chipping and offer a complementary Christmas tree disposal service to the community for a week soon after the holidays. They donate their pay and we match the donation for a community initiative each year.
We monitor the BC Used Oil Program on behalf of the municipality. Residents drop off their oil and sign papers and we store it safely until it can be removed.
